The Pediatrician Bown Crossing Boise Families Have Trusted for Over 40 Years

Bown Crossing families looking for a pediatrician do not have to go far. Ada Pediatrics is about ten minutes west on Warm Springs, 650 N Cole Rd, no highway, no complicated turns, easy to get to even on the days when your child is running a fever and you just need to move fast.

Dr. Bob Lindsay opened Ada Pediatrics more than four decades ago with one goal. Build the best pediatric practice in Boise. He was named Best Pediatrician in Best of Treasure Valley in 2014 and the practice he built has been caring for Boise kids ever since. Dr. Ryan, his son, grew up in this city, went to Boise High, Boise State, then completed his pediatric residency at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston before coming home to take the practice forward. Jenna Gere, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner on the team, is a Boise native too with seven years of pediatric experience at St. Luke's behind her. Three providers, all with deep roots here, all genuinely invested in this community.

Taking new patients now. Same-day sick visits when you call early. And if you are expecting, newly arrived in the area or just want to meet the team before scheduling your child's first appointment, a free meet and greet is available with no obligation attached.

Call (208) 323-1222 Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm to get started.

Ten Minutes from Bown Crossing — No Freeway, No Hassle

Bown Crossing sits right along the Boise River on the southeast side of the city and getting to Ada Pediatrics from there is simpler than most people expect. Head west on Warm Springs Avenue, cross over toward Cole Road and you are there. About ten minutes on a normal day, maybe a few more during morning rush. No merging onto the freeway, no navigating downtown one-way streets, no parking structure to deal with when you arrive.

That matters more than it sounds. When your child wakes up with a 103 degree fever at seven in the morning and you are trying to get them seen before the day fills up, a straightforward ten minute drive is a completely different experience from a twenty-five minute cross-city trip. Same thing for the routine appointments, the well visits and immunizations that are easy to reschedule when the office feels far away. When the drive is this simple there is less reason to put it off.

Plenty of parking right at the office when you get there. No walking three blocks from a parking garage with a sick toddler.

Pediatric Care for Every Stage — Newborn Through Age 18

Whatever your child needs from the first days of life through the last year of high school, Ada Pediatrics covers it. Here is what Bown Crossing families can expect from the practice.

Newborn Care

First office visits, growth and milestone checks, feeding questions that come up at two in the morning, sleeping routines that are not working, teething that hits harder than anyone warned you about. We have been through all of it with Boise families for over 40 years and there are very few questions we have not heard before. Expecting your first baby or currently in the adoption process? Come in for a free meet and greet before the baby arrives. Meet Dr. Ryan and Jenna, see the office and get your questions answered before the chaos of a newborn makes everything harder to figure out.

Well Child Visits and Immunizations

Annual exams from birth through 18, immunizations kept on schedule, development tracked at every visit.

These appointments are how we catch things early, how we get to know your child well enough to notice when something feels different and how we stay ahead of problems rather than reacting to them after the fact.

Same-Day Sick Visits

Call us early in the morning and in most cases your child gets seen the same day. Ear infections, sudden fevers, stomach bugs, rashes that were not there yesterday, playground injuries, the things that show up without any warning.

We try to make sure Bown Crossing families are not stuck waiting days for a sick visit appointment when their child needs attention now.

Toddler Through Teen Care

Physical health, behavioral development, social and emotional milestones, adolescent concerns. All of it from 18 months through age 18 with the same providers your child has grown up seeing rather than whoever happens to be available that day.

Injury and Illness Consultations

Not sure if what you are looking at needs an office visit, a phone conversation or a trip to the emergency room? Call us and describe what is going on. We help you make that call quickly rather than leaving you to figure it out alone when you are already stressed about your child.

After Hours Urgent Line

When something urgent comes up after we close, call (208) 323-1222 and press 0. The answering service is available around the clock and connects you to the on-call physician for urgent matters. Not a recording. A real physician who talks through what is happening and helps you decide what to do next.

The Providers Behind Ada Pediatrics

Ada Pediatrics is a family practice in the most literal sense. Dr. Bob Lindsay founded it over 40 years ago. His son Dr. Ryan came back to Boise to run it.

Jenna Gere, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, grew up here too. Three providers with genuine Boise roots and a combined depth of experience that a practice this size rarely has.

Dr. Ryan Lindsay, DO

Grew up in Boise. Went to Boise High, went to Boise State, then left for medical school at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduating he matched into his pediatric residency at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, one of the most competitive and well-regarded pediatric training programs in the United States. Finished in 2012 and came home.

Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. And a trained paramedic on top of all of that, which means the clinical instincts he brings to a sick visit or an injury consultation come with real emergency medicine experience behind them, not just a medical school curriculum.

When he is not in the office he is running races and triathlons. Still holds the Boise Elementary School City Track Meet mile record from 1992 and is apparently not letting that go anytime soon. He and his wife Laura, an anesthesiologist at St. Luke's, share their home with three cats named Nash, Winter and Polaris and a border collie named Mouse.

Jenna Lindsay Gere, PNP

Grew up right here in Boise, went to Boise High School, played soccer and then headed to Willamette University for her undergraduate degree before coming back to Boise State for nursing. She went on to earn her Master of Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Oregon Health and Science University.

Before joining Ada Pediatrics she spent several years as an RN in the pediatric department at St. Luke's and then seven years as a PNP in St. Luke's Children at Risk Evaluation Services program. That is a significant amount of hospital-based pediatric experience working with children in complex and vulnerable situations. She brings all of that into a primary care setting where the focus is on keeping kids healthy and catching problems early rather than responding to them after they have escalated.

Jenna sees patients in the office and in the newborn nursery and helps across multiple functions in the practice. In a small family practice that kind of presence and versatility is something families notice and appreciate over time.

New to Bown Crossing or Expecting Your First Baby?

A lot of families find Ada Pediatrics the same way. They just moved into Bown Crossing or somewhere nearby on the southeast side of Boise, they have a baby coming or a young child who needs to establish care somewhere, and they are trying to figure out who to trust before something actually goes wrong and they need a doctor fast.

The free meet and greet is the easiest place to start. Come in, no charge, no obligation. Meet Dr. Ryan and Jenna in person, walk through the office, ask every question you have been holding onto about vaccines, sick visit availability, after hours coverage, how the practice handles specialist referrals, whatever is on your mind. The whole point of that appointment is to give you enough information to make a confident decision rather than guessing based on a website.

Expecting your first baby and not sure when to schedule the first newborn visit? Come in before the due date if you can. Having a pediatrician already in place before the baby arrives means one less thing to figure out in those first overwhelming days at home. We will walk you through what the first few months look like, what to expect at each early visit and what questions tend to come up so you are not starting from zero when things get hard.

In the adoption process? Same offer applies. Come in, meet the team and get a sense of the practice before your child comes home. The transition period after an adoption brings its own set of medical questions and having a pediatrician who knows your situation already makes that process considerably less stressful.

Transferring from another practice? Have your child's records sent over before the first visit so Dr. Ryan and Jenna have the full picture going in rather than starting from scratch at the appointment.

Questions Bown Crossing Parents Ask Us

  • Is Ada Pediatrics accepting new patients from Bown Crossing?

Yes. Dr. Ryan Lindsay and Jenna Gere are both taking new patients right now. Bown Crossing families are about ten minutes away and we see patients from that part of the city regularly. Call (208) 323-1222 during office hours to get started or ask about the free meet and greet if you want to come in first before committing.

  • How long is the drive from Bown Crossing to Ada Pediatrics?

About ten minutes heading west on Warm Springs to Cole Road. No freeway, no downtown traffic, straightforward route. Easy enough that it does not become a reason to put off an appointment or delay a sick visit when your child needs to be seen.

  • Do you offer same-day sick visits for Bown Crossing families?

Yes. Call early in the morning and in most cases we get your child in the same day. Fevers, ear infections, stomach bugs, rashes, injuries. We know these things do not show up at convenient times and we try to make sure you have somewhere to go the same day rather than waiting several days for an opening.

  • What ages do you see?

Newborns through age 18. First visit in the hospital nursery all the way through the last annual exam before college. Same providers throughout, which means Dr. Ryan and Jenna know your child's history rather than reading it off a chart for the first time at every visit.

  • What happens if my child gets sick after hours?

Call (208) 323-1222 and press 0. The answering service is available around the clock and connects you to the on-call physician for urgent matters. Real person, real conversation, real guidance on what to do next. If it is a true emergency call 911 first.

  • Do you offer a free meet and greet?

Yes. If you are expecting, in the adoption process or new to the Bown Crossing area and looking for a pediatrician, come in before committing to anything. Meet Dr. Ryan and Jenna, see the office, ask your questions. No charge, no pressure. Call (208) 323-1222 and mention you are interested in the meet and greet.

  • Who will my child see at Ada Pediatrics?

Dr. Ryan Lindsay, DO and Jenna Lindsay Gere, PNP. Dr. Ryan grew up in Boise, completed his pediatric residency at Texas Children's Hospital in 2012 and is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is also a trained paramedic. Jenna grew up in Boise, trained at Oregon Health and Science University and spent seven years as a PNP at St. Luke's before joining the practice. Small team, same faces every visit.

  • What is a well child visit and how often does my child need one?

A well child visit is a scheduled annual exam when your child is healthy. Growth, development, immunizations, behavioral and social milestones, any questions you have built up since the last appointment. Frequency varies by age, more often in the first two years and annually after that. Dr. Ryan and Jenna will keep your child on the right schedule and flag if anything needs more attention between visits.
